Oleg Rubel

Lviv,impoverished family

I, Oleh Rubel, was born in August 1996, so now I’m 21. I spent my whole life in Lviv, Ukraine. I have my mother only. My father worked in police and went through the Afghanistan war as military operator. He came back severely ill and was struggling for his well-being, until the day his liver stopped working. He was awarded with title of captain posthumously. My mother was in deep grief, and still can’t cope with our loss which was also great issue for me. Despite the fact that I was just 10, my father managed to bring me up well. He was a very devouted man and taught me to love God. It’s misfortune, but my father could have, and, indeed wanted, to give me much more. He passed away when he was 42. Because of his sacrifice, I gained the opportunity to enter the university’s prestigious department of translation study. Not so long ago, I have met Ihor, and when he asked me, what can I share with Hebron family, I recalled how my father was serving to people and my almost 10 years of experience of studying English. Now I'm teaching English to other students. I am thankful to God for opportunity to improve my skills in IT sphere and ability to help people like me, people who has same bitter experience as me.
